So, the new trailer for Marvel’s Deadpool 2 is out and its awesome as ever. This is the third teaser for the new, as yet untitled, Deadpool sequel and it has been quite awaited. It’s created a lot of hype all over the universe (Yes, Martians are Marvel fans too) because the gun-toting, menacing, mutant villain has finally been introduced. Played by Josh Brolin, who also plays Thanos in the MCU, meet Cable.

Pictured here in all his ‘roided out glory

Cable (Real Name: Nathan Summers) is the first son Of Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor (Jean Grey’s clone) and the half-brother of Rachel Summers and Nate Grey.  Soon after his birth, Jean Grey, at the time presumed dead, returns and Scott leaves Nathan and Madelyne for her. Nathan Summers is then transported as an infant to the future, where he grows into a warrior, before returning to the present.

Cable is a mutant who possesses telepathic and telekinetic abilities. Beside that he is also a highly accomplished warrior and a battle strategist. Cable has defeated Captain America in hand-to-hand combat and defeated Falcon, Red Hulk and Iron Man! In addition to this, he has some latent time-travel abilities. He has mastered advanced weaponry from both the 20th and the 40th centuries.

Breakdown of ‘Meet Cable’

The trailer video starts with Cable’s face resting on the ground with his left eye red. This is because he is infected with some kind of techno-organic virus that makes the left half of his body appear as it does. This scene also indicates that he could have possibly just time traveled to the past.

Also, a teddy bear can be seen in Cable’s pocket that might belong to Hope Summers.

In the next scene, we finally get a complete look at Cable, with the kind of comedic interruption Deadpool has become famous for. The titular character makes another hilarious entrance as he fixes Cable’s green-screened arm. Following this is a wonderful Toy Story Easter egg, where the ‘Merc With a Mouth’ labels his Cable and Deadpool action figures with “WADE” on the soles of their feet.

Shortly after this, we get to see the action Cable is famous for – with his arm CGI’d this time. “People think they understand pain, but they have no concept of it,” growls Cable. “What’s the most pain you’ve ever felt?” Commence punching and shooting. He has a fight with, what appear to be, armed police officers, in some sort of prison surrounded by convicts in orange uniforms.

The rest of the trailer also shows Domino and Negasonic Teenage Warhead. All in all, Deadpool 2 seems like it’s going to be a fun movie that is surely going to have a massive impact on the MCU and it’s timeline with Cable’s time-travel abilities.

The Deadpool Sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on May 18, 2018.
