Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X confirmed!

Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X confirmed:

We know the names of the new iPhones, thanks to the iOS firmware. Apple’s three new phones are called iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are going to be the regular successors to last year’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, and surprisingly enough we are not going to see the 7s or 7s Plus. The third phone will be the special edition phone that is launching to mark the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, and it is named the iPhone X (X = Ten?).

iPhone 8 and iPhone X features

It isn’t obviously only the names that got leaked because the firmware leak also revealed some other features and details of the upcoming phones. Having glass backs, the new iPhones will have the new A11 chip, capability to charge wirelessly through an inductive Qi charging pad and there won’t be many changes to how the phones would look when compared to their successors. But with that last part, we are talking about only the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

The iPhone X, on the other side, is going to have the 5.8-inch OLED display and it will have minimum bezels on the front except for the top area to accommodate the sensors, the 3D sensor, and the front-facing camera.

All the new iPhones are going to have Face ID as a new way to unlock the phone, and a new biometric authentication mechanism will be in place to replace the Touch ID. As far as the cameras are concerned, it isn’t a confirmed feature but it is said that both the cameras on the back will have the OIS support. The iPhone X will support True Tone.

The video recording specifications are changed and here is what you would be able to see in the upcoming iPhones.

  • 1080p HD at 240 fps 480 MB with 1080p HD at 240 fps
  • 4K at 24 fps (Footer) 270 MB with 4K at 24 fps (film style) (HEVC Footer) 135 MB with 4K at 24 fps (film style)
  • 4K at 60 fps (Footer) 450 MB with 4K at 60 fps (higher resolution, smoother) (HEVC Footer) 400 MB with 4K at 60 fps (higher resolution, smoother)

For now, these are the things we get to see the leaks, but that is a lot already. Isn’t it?
