Deep learning and computer vision expert Andrej Karpathy hired by Tesla – But What is Deep Learning? – Everything you should know:
“Tesla has hired deep learning and computer vision expert Andrej Karpathy in a key Autopilot role. Karpathy has an extensive background in AI-related fields, having completed a Ph.D. at Stanford University in computer vision and also created one of the original, and most respected, deep learning courses taught at Stanford”. Tesla Say’s: Andrej Karpathy, one of the world’s leading experts in computer vision and deep learning, is joining Tesla as Director of AI and Autopilot Vision, reporting directly to Elon Musk. Andrej has worked to give computers vision through his work on ImageNet, as well as imagination through the development of generative models, and the ability to navigate the internet with reinforcement learning. He was most recently a Research Scientist at OpenAI.
But what is Deep Learning? For those who don’t know, let me explain you first!
Deep Learning is a new area of Machine Learning research that has been earning significant media interest owing to the role it is playing in artificial intelligence (A.I) applications like image recognition and self-driving cars. Recently, It’s techniques has become popular in solving traditional Natural Language Processing problems like Sentiment Analysis and more.
For those who are new to the topic of ‘Deep Learning’ Here are the 10, Deep Learning Terms you should know about. We will be covering a detailed article – explaining all the terms in an easier way.
- Artificial Neural Networks
- Convolutional Neural Networks
- Recurrent Neural Network
- Recursive Neural Network
- Supervised Neural Network
- Unsupervised Neural Network
- Gradient Descent
- Word Embedding
But then it’s okay! You simply just keep in mind that, It is a subfield of machine learning concerned with algorithms inspired by the structure and function of the brain called artificial neural networks.
If you are just starting out in the field, we would be covering more very soon and will try to provide the videos too. Because learning new stuff is always fun.
