Facebook Stories: Another new feature after Facebook live.
Business has only two functions – marketing and innovation.
Social media became a real-time business nowadays for the company owners and the co-owners. They try to innovate their services every next moment. Same happened with Facebook #1 Social media platform.
A year ago i.e on April 6th, 2016 Facebook released its Live feature for the public.
“Today we’re launching Facebook Live for everyone — to make it easier to create, share and discover live videos. Live is like having a TV camera in your pocket. Anyone with a phone now has the power to broadcast to anyone in the world. When you interact live, you feel connected in a more personal way. This is a big shift in how we communicate, and it’s going to create new opportunities for people to come together.
I’ll be going live myself around 10:30 am PT today and I’ll answer some of your questions about the new product. Join me!” said Mark Zuckerberg (CEO & Co-founder of Facebook) writing on his timeline.
Now again a great news for all the Facebook users. Facebook Stories: Another new feature after facebook live.
It will look exactly like Instagram Stories with a little circular profile photo of the user and their friends appearing on top of the News Feed. A feature similar to Instagram Stories, for its users in Chile, Greece, and Vietnam. Facebook Stories was earlier released in Ireland on Android, iOS and promotional videos of the same were also shared on YouTube, but later that videos were step down. Now Facebook Stories is accessible in other areas too.
According to recent reports, Instagram Stories has reached 150 million daily active users in only 5 months. That is a huge number considering there are only 400 million daily active Instagram users. Facebook, on the other hand, has 1.23 billion people using the social network every single day. If ‘Facebook Stories’ has even near the success that Instagram Stories has achieved.
The company recently stated: “Facebook has long been the place to share with friends and family, but the way that people share is changing in significant ways. The way people share today is different to five or even two years ago — it’s much more visual, with more photos and videos than ever before. We want to make it fast and fun for people to share creative and expressive photos and videos with whoever they want, whenever they want.”
Stories for Facebook Messenger has already gone live as new Messenger Day feature. It lets users share photos and videos to a story within the Messenger app, adding filters and stickers. All posts will disappear within 24 hours. Users can choose who can view their Stories via built-in privacy features, something which differentiates from others i.e. Instagram and Snapchat.
Facebook Stories isn’t available to all the 1.8 billion users using it globally so we will have to wait and just watch how people react to it. Remember Facebook has a significantly higher user base as said earlier. So chances are Stories will be an entirely new concept for lot many people using social media.
That’s it for today!
