Datally is a data-saving android app by Google, first launched in November 2017. Since then, it has been helping people control and monitor their data usage. New updates have been added to improve the user experience of Datally. The highlights of these new features are the ability to set daily data usage limits and a guest mode which limits the usage of the phone when borrowed by a friend.
Datally Can Set Daily Limits
Daily limits are the first feature of this new update by Google. It helps setting quotas on daily usage of data. Usually, all of us have a daily data usage limit. Datally helps you monitor this so that you don’t run out of data before the completion of your daily data cycle.
Datally Has a Guest Mode
This is another useful feature. When you let someone borrow your phone, you certainly don’t want them to simply finish your data on cat videos and leave you without access to the internet for the day. In cases where more than one family member makes use of the same phone, the guest mode could be a life savior for you!
Datally Highlights Unused Apps
We all install new apps, sometimes just for the heck of it. And a lot of them just sit there on your phone, doing nothing. Datally identifies and highlights apps that use your data, but aren’t used enough by you. You can uninstall these apps or if you don’t want to do that, you can simply restrict the use of data for those specific apps.
Datally Identifies WiFi Networks and Shows them on a Map
Earlier, the app used to suggest free available Wi-Fi networks. But with the upgrade, now a whole map is visible locating the sources of Wi-Fi. So, now you know where to go for free wifi.
These features have just been added to the app. Even though a lot of features were already there before this update, these new features will surely make the usage of the app worth it.
Now, many of you might be thinking that these features are already built into most Android phones. So why all the fuss? Yes, its true that these are standard Android features, however, Google made these features a lot more noticeable. Also, it may be worth it to download the app for the additional features like guest mode and Wi-Fi map, which are not yet available in android phones.
