What is Internet?
In Simple terms, ‘The Internet is a global network connecting millions of computers. More than 200 countries are coupled to exchanges of data, news, knowledge, and pieces of stuff.
The Internet provides a large variety of information and communication facilities consisting of interconnected networks.
There are millions and millions of connected devices nowadays, from smart vehicles to smart meters, generating tons of data in increasing amount. This worldwide network of connected devices is the ‘Internet of Things’ i.e IoT. In a real world, IoT is the name given to technology that enables the connection of both people and machines to the global network.
In the next 5 to 7 years max by 2025 these millions will be transformed very easily into billions or trillions no offense because the way devices are connecting to other devices or replacing with the new ones embedded with sensors and surrounded with lots of technologies and the old ones have been kept into the wardrobes below or beside our clothes as if there are of no use to us in our day-to-day life.
Now it comes to How ‘The next big thing’?
Actually here the next big thing means it will be big enough that you cannot even imagine but you can just think about it and before thinking or knowing how exactly big it will be just get known with some of the things happening in Internet of Things.
BI Intelligence research experts,“there will be more than 24 billion IoT devices on Earth by 2020.” which means four devices each for every single human being surviving on the pretty planet.
And as we go through the same point, $6 billion will flow only into IoT solutions including application development, device hardware, system integration, security, connectivity and data storage. But that will be money well spent, as those investments will generate some trillions by 2025.
Millions, billions and then trillions Oh really!
But then the question arises who will reap these much of benefits?
There are major three entities that will use IoT ecosystems, firstly the consumers, secondly our governments and lastly the big huge businesses.
So this was ‘Internet of Things: The next big thing’.
In the next blog, IoT in detail will be covered followed by some important point’s comes under the title ‘Internet of Things’.
