Life of an entrepreneur is anything but easy. At MIDAS the journey of starting
your own venture or joining your family owned business, is curated through an
11 month PGDM in Entrepreneurship programme. It is their belief that
“Entrepreneur’s are Made, not Born.” And they deliver on this promise through
the “Student To Founder” journey which begins with identifying the right idea,
right upto launching it in the market.
The third edition of MIDAS BAZAAR, the annual flagship event, was held at the
MIDAS Campus in Pune, on 1st June 2019, in an exhibition format. The Guest of
Honor was Mr Abhijit Pawar, the MD of Sakal Media Group. The event was graced
by a speech from the Chief Mentor, Prof Parag Shah where he shared how the
unique programme had actually translated the student’s ideas into business
ventures. The course began with idea generation where through a combination
of various experiential learning modules that unlocked the student’s creative
potential, the batch managed to generate a whopping 2681 unique business
ideas! After mapping the right idea to the right student, through a scientific
method, the students were then sent to market to validate the idea for its
viability. Post that, in the incubation centre the idea was given shape to convert it
into a business. And now they have reached a stage where they are ready to take
it to the market & MIDAS BAZAAR is the first platform where they can showcase
their ideas to the world!
MIDAS Bazaar hosted 17 different businesses, presented by their students, with
categories mostly focusing on B2C industries, E-Commerce, Urban Farming,
FMCG, Construction Material, Health and Sanitation, Logistics, Fashion,
Footwear, and more. This yearly initiative of launching businesses with websites,
apps and brand videos attract prospective customers, & attract business
investors & brand partners.
The evening was lit by awards distribution to the most innovative business ideas
by a jury of investors. The winners for startup category were Akanksha Ladkat &
Sachin Jain from Pune and Chennai respectively. Ayush & Vishakha Rathi of
Raipur were the winners in the family business category. It was a proud moment
for parents and families of these students, as new businesses and successors
