Poco F1 Launched In India : Undercuts The Market


The Poco F1 has finally landed in India. Xiaomi’s new flagship has launched at an unbelievably low price. Xiaomi says Poco is aimed at delivering performance without burning a hole in your pocket. It features the SD-845 chipset and Adreno 630 GPU. It also uses LiquidCool technology to keep the temperatures down. The 4,000mAh battery that the device sports should be more than enough to last you through the day. It supports QuickCharge 3.0 for fast-charging and comes with up to 8GB RAM, 256GB storage along with SD card support. Xiaomi also said the handset will support faster mobile data download speeds with the 4G+ standard.

It sports a polycarbonate body but there will also be a Poco F1 Armoured Edition, with a Kevlar back panel. The smartphone has a 6.18-inch FHD+ display with 500nits brightness and there is a display notch which can be disabled in the settings if that’s what you prefer. The IR sensors make sure the Face Unlock feature works well even in the dark. As for the camera, it boasts a 12-megapixel camera setup on the back with Dual Pixel technology, HDR, and real-time AI photography. On the front is a 20-megapixel camera which also supports HDR.

As with all Xiaomi phones, the Poco F1 has MIUI, but the good news is that it’s running the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. Xiaomi has also promised monthly security updates for its flagship device. Another interesting feature is that unlocking the bootloader will not void the warranty of the Poco F1, this was previously only seen in specialty devices like the Yureka.

The Poco F1 will be a part of the Make in India initiative and compete against the likes of OnePlus 6, Asus ZenFone 5Z to name a few.

Availability and Price

The Xiaomi Poco F1 is priced in India at Rs. 20,999 for the variant with 6GB RAM, 64GB storage. Its 6GB RAM, 128GB storage model will cost Rs. 23,999 in India. Lastly, the 8GB RAM, 256GB storage model, is priced at Rs. 28,999. For the featured specs, this smartphone is a steal in any and all senses of the word. As for the Armoured Edition model with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, buyers will cut you short by Rs. 29,999. The smartphone will be available via Flipkart as well as  and the first sale will be held on August 29 at 12 pm IST.
