You have a powerful device with you every time yet you whine about not having a quality device which meets your expectations or is it, you have never tried to explore it. Yes, you are thinking it right it’s your smartphone which is nothing less than a supercomputer.
Razer’s Project Linda Concept at CES 2018 shows the world the convergence of two devices in one. Project Linda, a phone case that shaped like a laptop sport a 13.3-inch quad-HD display, 53.6Wh battery, 200 GB space, backlit keyboard, and a handful of other tools.
To bring it live, pair the project Linda with a Razer’s Phone and it will start acting like it’s brain and the Central-Processing-Unit. It sounds like screen mirroring but Project Linda is beyond that. After pairing with a Razer Phone, Linda becomes a complete laptop wherein you can experience everything from video streaming in HD to playing games like a pro.
Linda doesn’t have any built-in speakers for the audio, instead, it uses the speakers of the phone which is quite smart and also Linda has a front camera and a microphone beside it so that you can have a perfect skype conferences.
In addition, Linda has a built-in power bank system which charges your phone while it’s plugged in.
This concept of turning a phone into a laptop or tablet is not particularly new. The Atrix Lapdock tried to unite laptops and phones in early 2011. The ASUS Padfone, allowed their users to slide their phones into a larger tablet accessory which made the appearance in the market in 2014. Microsoft’s “Continuum” project for Windows 10 aspired to make windows phone as a replacement for laptops, but couldn’t do much in the market.
For the time being Linda is just a concept, for now, other than the fact, it made the appearance at CES 2018 with few prototypes and so far none of the Razer’s Linda (Concept Device) has gone up for sale in the market.
Let’s hope to see this concept device into reality soon.
